Canada’s Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) program gives employees working with global companies an opportunity to move to Canada through their existing employer. It allows eligible staff to continue working for the same company while being transferred to its Canadian branch or office, which in turn helps them gain Canadian work experience and settle in Canada legally.

Intra-Company Transfer Executive
This category is for employees working in senior executive positions who oversee the company as a whole or manage a major function or division of the business.
Intra-Company Transfer Managerial
This category covers employees who oversee teams, handle departmental responsibilities, or manage everyday business operations within the organization.
Intra-Company Transfer Specialized Knowledge
This applies to employees who hold internal company knowledge or technical skills that are not easily available in the Canadian labour market and are important for ongoing operations.

Intra-company transfers allow companies to momentarily transfer senior employees to Canada to support business continuity. Eligible applicants may get a work permit under the LMIA-exempt category.
Eligibility
To be eligible under the ICT program, the candidates need to play an important role within the company as an executive, manager, or specialized employee. Supporting documents are required, such as an employment offer explaining the transfer, details of both positions, and evidence of work experience and skill level.
