
Yukon Business Nominee Program
The Yukon Business Nominee Program (YBNP) is designed for experienced entrepreneurs aiming to establish or acquire a business in Yukon, Canada. The program offers a pathway to permanent residence for business immigrants willing to invest and manage a business in Yukon.
Minimum of 3 years of entrepreneurial or business management experience.
At least 5 years of experience relevant to the proposed business.
Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 6 in English or equivalent in French.
Verified net worth of at least CAD $500,000, with at least CAD $300,000 in liquid assets.
Invest a minimum of CAD $300,000 in the proposed business and own at least one-third of it.
Score at least 65 points, with a minimum of 10 points allocated for language ability.
Submit a complete application to the YBNP.
Attend an interview in Yukon. Successful applicants receive a Letter of Support for a two-year federal temporary work permit.
Apply for a work permit at the visa office responsible for your country of residence.
Upon arrival in Yukon, you have up to two years to develop the business as outlined in your business plan.
If substantial progress is made in developing the business, a nominee certificate may be issued before the completion of two years.
Apply to the Government of Canada for permanent resident visas, including medical and security examinations.

The processing time from nomination to receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence is approximately 12 to 14 weeks.
As of May 16, 2024, intake of applications to the Yukon Nominee Program for Whitehorse-based employers is paused. The intake was scheduled to reopen on January 29, 2025, but has been delayed.
Work Permit and Permanent Residency
After receiving a Letter of Support from the YBNP, applicants can apply for a two-year temporary work permit, allowing them to establish and operate their business in Yukon.
If substantial progress is made in developing the business, a nominee certificate may be issued. You may then apply for permanent resident visas to the Government of Canada, including medical and security checks.
