On August 10, 2026, Newfoundland and Labrador’s Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) issued 208 invitations: 186 through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and 22 through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). NLPNP accounted for about 89.4% of this draw. This is the province’s 10th selection of 2026 and brings the year-to-date total to 2,197 invitations across NLPNP and AIP (84.2% NLPNP). The 22 AIP invitations are the fewest since June 10.
How selection works
– Except for NLPNP entrepreneur streams, a valid job offer is required for both NLPNP and the N&L AIP.
– Candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via the province’s Immigration Accelerator Portal. EOIs record education, work history, language, and settlement plans and remain valid in the pool for 12 months.
– The OIM ranks EOIs using a prioritization framework that can favor healthcare, sales and service, rural roles, and occupations with lower representation. The OIM did not provide a stream-level breakdown for the Aug 10 draw.
– Invited candidates must respond within 60 days. For NLPNP nominations the employer submits the provincial application; for AIP endorsements the candidate files the application. After nomination or endorsement, candidates apply to IRCC for permanent residence.
